Role: Warehouse Operator
Duration: 8 weeks
Rate: £13.50 per hour - PAYE
Hours: 37 hours per week based on a two shift system
Location: Peterborough
Start Date: Monday 3rd October
 
My client is looking for 4 Warehouse Operatives to join them at their new site in Peterborough to conduct logistic warehouse activities in support of the Logistic network. Based at the Central Distribution Centre (CDC) this role requires the holder to conduct delivery receipts, storage of stock, internal movement of stock and onwards dispatch of deliveries to the logistic network.
 
All stock transactions will be conducted on SAP with the physical movement being completed by the operation of various types of manual handling equipment.
 
The warehouse will operate a two shift system with an early shift planned for 06:30  - 14:00 and a later shift from 12:30 - 20:00.
 
Responsibilities include:
·Conduct activities and processes within the Central Distribution Centre
·Team member in one of two logistic teams operating in either an early or late daily work pattern
·Conduct vehicle off load and storage activities
·Conduct load building activities forming part of logistic outbound processes.
·Use of handheld computers in order to manage stock flow and its accountability
·Use of Manual Handling Equipment
·Conduct general warehouse activities and tasks as required
·Conduct stock taking and assurance checks as directed within the warehouse
·Support to the logistic network during incident management procedures from within the CDC.
·Take on periods of 24hr standby callout for emergency support incidents
·Operate Forklift Counterbalance Trucks in a safe manner and in accordance with company procedures.
·Operate Reach Trucks in a safe manner and in accordance with company procedures.
 
Skills and experience:
·Logistic warehouse operations experience
·Good verbal communication skills
·Ability to work effectively in a small team environment
·Adaptability to deal with unique and unexpected situations
·Problem solving ability to deal with operational challenges within the warehouse
