Excellent opportunity for a Utilities Coordinator to work on HS2 on a contract basis.


The Utilities Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the relevant information is available and used by the supply chain to ensure that the subcontractor processes are in place to work safely. They will ensure that information is gathered, administered, disseminated and sufficiently up to date to enable efficient planning and safe execution of works.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in the Rail industry
 
Location: Remote working with visits to site located in Central London
Duration: Initially 3 months
 
 
Essential Experience:
 
·Minimum of 2 years experience working in the role of utilities co-ordinator
·Previous experience working  in a BIM environment
·Previous experience in a site-based construction role in major construction
·Precious experience working on Utilities diversions
·Attention to detail for production and evaluation of documentation
·Liaison with various stakeholders, with conflicting aims and aspirations
·Good understanding of quality assurance process
 
Role and Responsibilities:
 
·Ensuring the Design/Pre-Construction hierarchy is followed to reduce risk to the lowest practicable level in accordance with Avoiding Danger from Services
·Ensure pre-construction information, surveys and contact is programmed to allow adequate time to complete the activities
·Ensuring all options for redesign to avoid utilities is communicated to the Site Lead and subcontractors during handover and ensure that it is included within the Design Risk Assessment
·Ensuring all residual risks are communicated to the Site Lead and the subcontractors where the risk of working in close proximity to existing utilities cannot be avoided
·Ensure Utility Detection Surveys are carried out.
·Formally hand over all pre-construction information to the Site Lead at the Pre-Start meeting.
·Ensure all pre-construction information is handed over to the subcontractors responsible for carrying out works.
·Ensure all relevant information generated by subcontractors or others on site is captured and the pre-construction information is updated accordingly.
·Ensure subcontractors implement a permit to dig process as part of their safe system of work that is proportionate to the risk.
·Hold regular co-ordination meetings with the subcontractor appointed authorising persons.
·Release or withhold areas where permits to dig can be issued.
·Ensure all 3rd party information is verified and coordinated in the project Common Data Environment
·Ensure all subcontractor information is produced in compliance of the Contractor and Employer requirements.
·Ensure 3D model is kept up to date with utilities information
 
Qualifications Required:
· HSG47
·CITB approved Course or equivalent
·SSSTS
