Job Title: Tunnel Inspector
Location: Tees Valley
Rate: £40 - £45 an hour - Umbrella
Role: 3 months +
Start Date: ASAP
Job Description:
My client is looking for a Tunnel Inspector for an ongoing construction project within the water industry. As a Tunnel Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety during the construction of tunnels and shafts on behalf of Northumbrian Water.
Responsibilities:
·On-site supervision of construction works to guarantee compliance with quality and safety standards.
·Daily reporting of progress, quality, and safety issues.
·Immediate reporting of safety incidents, observations, or near misses into the relevant project systems.
·Collaborate with the project team, including Northumbrian Water and the Main Works Contractor, to enhance safety measures and maintain project progress.
·Monitor and supervise shaft sinking works during 12-hour working days (Mon-Fri) and half-day shifts on Saturdays.
·Transition to 24-hour shift work during the tunnel drive phase, covering all seven days of the week, for a minimum period of three months.
Requirements:
·Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within tunnel construction or related field.
·In-depth knowledge of construction site safety protocols and standards.
·Strong communication and reporting skills.
·Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse project team.
·Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules, including extended hours and weekend shifts.
·Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Qualifications:
·Relevant degree or certification in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
·Previous experience in tunnel construction or a similar role.
