Job description

Transport Planner
 
Our client is looking for a Transport Planner to join their team in North Tyneside.
 
As a Transport Planner, you will assist in traffic and transportation studies and the development of local, regional and national transport policies and strategies.
 
Responsibilities of the role:
 
·The promotion, development and expansion of Active Travel Routes
·The production of local, national and regional transport policy documents designed to support and facilitate improvements to the transportation network;
·The design and planning of public transport interchanges;
·The production of WebTAG/WelTAG assessments designed to evaluate the economic, social and environmental implications of major infrastructure projects;
·The development of Transport Assessments and Travel Plans to support planning applications
 
Requirements of the role:
 
·desire to achieve chartered status with the CMIHT or equivalent;
·a good understanding of Transport Policy and Strategy;
·a working knowledge of Travel Plans and Transport Assessments;
·confidence in dealing with a range of people including clients, councilors, local groups and the general public;
