Job Description:
Join their Strategic Modelling and Appraisal team at Transport Modeller or Senior Transport Modeller level, where you will play a key role in leading technical delivery and advancing innovative modelling approaches. They are looking for individuals with strong technical leadership skills, deep expertise in transport modelling, and the ability to guide and mentor others through complex analytical tasks. You will be motivated by applying and developing advanced tools and technologies to improve the understanding, performance, and appraisal of transport systems.
As a Transport Modeller, you will take responsibility for the technical delivery of strategic transport modelling projects, applying your transport modelling expertise and PTV Visum skills daily. The role focuses on task leadership and hands-on model development, guiding team members through defined modelling tasks from initial setup to final outputs. You will act as a key technical point of contact for clients, leading discussions on methodology, assumptions, and results, and ensuring that modelling work is delivered to a high technical standard and in line with agreed objectives.

Current UK public sector clients include Surrey County Council, Transport for London, City of Edinburgh as well as a host of local authorities and London boroughs within England. They have proactively managed some of the UK's most high-profile transport planning and infrastructure projects which are at the forefront of the transport planning industry. Your Responsibilities:
·Provide technical expertise in PTV Visum
·Drive innovation in transport modelling, research, data analysis and visualisation
·Mentor junior staff
·Help develop technical capabilities in emerging modelling areas (e.g. such as agent-based, activity-based demand modelling, and data-driven models)
·Contributing to technical proposals
·Manage projects/workstreams within projects, ensuring that best practice techniques are applied consistently.
·Explore opportunities to innovate and add value in traditional transport modelling projects.
·Contribute to and attend industry events and conferences.
Essential Experience Required:
·Previous experience in strategic transport modelling
·MSc in Transportation Engineering or Transport Planning or any other relevant degree
·PTV Visum skills is must have
·Knowledge and experience in computer programming languages (e.g. Python, R)
·Experience in transport demand and supply modelling; forecasting and experience in appraisal and evaluation of transport proposals
·Excellent communication skills in English
·Eligibility to work in the UK OR in the Schengen area
·Willingness to join a hard-working but super relaxed team of fellow modellers
·Willingness to travel to meet the team on a regular basis
Good-to-have Experience:
·Experience of other strategic transport modelling software such as CUBE, SATURN, EMME2, TRANSCAD
·Experience working with PTV Visum COM-API
·Experience of microsimulation or traffic engineering tools such as PTV Vissim or LinSig
·Experience working with GIS software such as QGIS or ARCGIS
·Excellent coding skills in any programming language
·Any other spoken language that clients might speak
·Project management and client liaison experience
·Line management experience
