Job Title: Town Planning Manager
Location: Hampshire
Job Type: Full-Time - 5 days a week in the office.
Do you possess exceptional leadership skills and have a deep understanding of town planning regulations and processes? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our client's team as a Town Planning Manager.

As the Town Planning Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our planning initiatives, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations, and driving innovative urban development projects. You will work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and local authorities to achieve our vision of creating thriving communities. My client is a growing housebuilder on the south coast.
Responsibilities:
1.Lead and manage the town planning team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
2.Develop and implement strategic plans and policies in alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
3.Conduct thorough research and analysis to evaluate the feasibility and viability of proposed development projects.
4.Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and related documentation while adhering to strict deadlines.
5.Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure effective coordination and integration of planning principles.
6.Liaise with local authorities, government agencies, and community groups to foster positive relationships and address concerns.
7.Stay updated with changes in town planning legislation, policies, and industry best practices, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
8.Conduct public consultations and engagement activities to gather feedback and promote transparency in the planning process.
9.Monitor and evaluate the impact of planning decisions on the environment, heritage, and socio-economic factors.
10.Prepare and present reports to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, articulating project progress, challenges, and recommendations.
Requirements:
1.A degree in Town Planning, Urban Design, or a related field. Additional relevant qualifications are desirable.
2.Proven experience in town planning, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
3.In-depth knowledge of UK town planning legislation, policies, and procedures.
4.Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex planning issues, propose effective solutions, and make informed decisions.
5.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and facilitate productive discussions.
6.Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
7.Proficiency in using planning software and tools for data analysis, report preparation, and presentation.
8.A track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines, and delivering high-quality results.
9.Membership or eligibility for membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., Royal Town Planning Institute - RTPI).
