Do you want to work for a highly motivated planning team who consistently delivers a high level of service?
 
We currently have two exciting opportunities for an experienced Town Planner to join this organisation. Due to the current pandemic you will be working from home the majority of the time. However you will be required to visit sites on a regular basis.
 
The Role 
·Assist in the programming, preparation, review and submission requests for approval, working primarily as part of the main works Integrated Project Team , and with engineering and environment teams, consultants and contractors as required
·Engage with local planning authorities on town planning matters and planning application submissions and hybrid Act related processes
·Manage, engage with and advise contractor teams on the preparation of planning material for consents packages
·Advise on Development Consent Order / Transport and Works Act Orders, and planning applications under the Town and Country Planning Act and General Permitted Development Order processes and programme
·Support with emerging business needs, assisting in design panel reviews, local technical engagement panels and local public engagement activities
·Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
 
The Candidate 
·Able to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
·Ability to negotiate the successful delivery of consents with local planning authorities
·Ability to provide advice and guidance on the production of drawings and supplemental planning information relating to planning submission
·Knowledge of UK Planning Policy and legislation and an understanding of Environment Impact Assessment Legislation
·Experience in project or programme management processes and/or successfully managing a varied caseload of applications or projects
·Experience in town planning through infrastructure planning and/or dealing with major planning applications under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990
·Experience in working and building relationships with multidisciplinary project teams, and internal and external stakeholders
·Must be MRTPI
