Job Title: Graduate Town Planner

My client is dedicated to creating sustainable and inclusive urban environments that improve people's lives. As a Graduate Town Planner, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to a wide range of planning projects.
Responsibilities:
1.Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications, including conducting research, gathering data, and supporting the development of planning documents.
2.Collaborate with senior planners and project teams to contribute to the delivery of planning projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
3.Conduct site visits and assessments to gather information and evaluate the feasibility and suitability of development proposals.
4.Assist in the analysis and interpretation of planning policies, guidelines, and legislation to support project decision-making.
5.Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and other project deliverables.
6.Engage in consultations with stakeholders, community groups, and local authorities to understand their needs and gather input for planning projects.
7.Stay updated with the latest trends, research, and best practices in town planning to enhance your professional knowledge and skills.
8.Support the team in monitoring and evaluating the environmental, social, and economic impact of planning decisions.
9.Utilize planning software and tools for data analysis, mapping, and report preparation.
10.Collaborate with team members to ensure effective project coordination and timely delivery of tasks.
Requirements:
1.A degree in Town Planning, Urban Design, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
2.A strong interest in urban planning, sustainable development, and creating vibrant communities.
3.Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to evaluate planning issues and propose effective solutions.
4.Knowledge of UK town planning legislation, policies, and procedures (including national and local planning frameworks).
5.Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey ideas and information clearly and concisely.
6.Proficiency in using planning software, GIS tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
7.A proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
8.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive and inclusive work culture.
9.Membership or eligibility for membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., Royal Town Planning Institute - RTPI) is an advantage.
10.A valid driving license or the ability to travel to project sites as required.
