Job Responsibilities:
·Collaborate with local government authorities, architects, and stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive town planning strategies.
·Conduct thorough research and analysis of planning policies, zoning regulations, and environmental factors to ensure compliance and sustainable development.
·Prepare and submit planning applications, including feasibility studies, design proposals, and environmental impact assessments.
·Engage with local communities, businesses, and interest groups to gather feedback and address concerns, ensuring their active participation in the planning process.
·Assess the potential impact of proposed developments on heritage sites, green spaces, infrastructure, and transportation systems, advocating for responsible growth.
·Provide professional advice and guidance on planning issues to clients, colleagues, and relevant authorities.
·Stay updated with the latest trends, legislation, and best practices in town planning, attending conferences and workshops to enhance professional knowledge.
Requirements:
·Degree in Town Planning or a related field (RTPI accreditation desirable).
·Proven experience in town planning, ideally within the UK.
·Strong knowledge of planning policies, regulations, and procedures.
·Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
·Effective communication and negotiation abilities, with experience in stakeholder engagement.
·Proficiency in using planning software and GIS tools.
·Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
