Technical Director - Highway Structures
London (Remote/Flexible working)
£70,000 - £75,000
 
Introduction
 
Are you a Technical Director looking for your next challenge? Are you an Associate Director looking for a step up? If so, I am currently recruiting for a Technical Director for an established private sector consultancy, working on a mix of projects across the UK.
 
During the pandemic, my clients are experienced continued growth, retaining staff across all sectors and winning some of their largest design schemes alongside major framework wins during this period. They now have ambitious growth plans over the next year and are looking for a Technical Director to join their Engineering Team based in London.

The Role
 
·Ensure fit for purpose processes are in place to support the Structures service.
·Provide analysis, advice and support to resolve problems and enhance business and operational performance.
·Actively seek new opportunities for large projects
·Demonstrate exceptional leadership and direction to ensure the maintenance of professional standards and high levels of motivation and commitment.
·Build a service delivery team for today and tomorrow, and one that is highly motivated in looking after the clients' interests
·Lead and facilitate delivery of training, development and succession plans for the service.
·Provide technical and commercial information and advise the business development and commercial management team to produce tender documents and marketing material.
·Actively keep abreast of the latest techniques and best practises to maintain quality standards
·Assist to produce the yearly account budget forecast and monitor and update progress against targets
·Contribute to the business strategy and plan.
·Develop and maintain professional networks as a basis for a contribution to the development of best practice and fit for purpose solutions
·Develop and grow the current client base
·Build and maintain relationships based on the partnership approach and negotiate at a senior level with internal, external business partners, clients and customers
·Maintain and improve financial targets (chargeable hours, margins etc)
 
The Ideal Candidate
·Minimum 15 years demonstrable experience
·Design Background
·Must have experience with Design Consultancies
·Must be a Chartered Engineer (UK compliant)
·Extensive experience in managing large teams and significant budgets at senior level
·Professional Membership MICE/ISTRUCE
·Expert commercial and business awareness
