Job Title: Surfacing Estimator
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Type: Full-time, In-Office
Salary: £35,000-£45,000
We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our client, a leading and specialized road surfacing company as a Surfacing Estimator. Our client is dedicated to delivering high-quality services to both private and public sector clients, and they are seeking an experienced Surfacing Estimator to contribute to their continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for a range of road surfacing projects, considering materials, labour, equipment, and other relevant factors.
2.Project Analysis: Collaborate with project managers to analyse project specifications, ensuring a thorough understanding of requirements and potential challenges.
3.Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including the commercial department, clients, and suppliers to gather information and ensure that estimates align with project goals and client expectations.
4.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of estimates, including assumptions, methodologies, and any deviations from standard practices, in adherence to the company's quality standards.
5.Bid Preparation: Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards, showcasing the company's commitment to excellence.
 
Qualifications and Skills:
·Surfacing and Highways Experience: Between 3-5 years of proven experience in surfacing and highways projects within an estimator capacity, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
·Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project documentation and provide valuable insights.
·Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates, aligning with the company's commitment to delivering high-quality services.
·Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and suppliers, fostering positive relationships.
·Time Management: Efficient time management skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously, supporting the company's commitment to delivering projects on schedule.
·Software Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant estimation software and tools, demonstrating a commitment to staying current with industry technology.
·Education: Relevant qualifications are preferred but not essential.
