Job description
An award-winning civil and structural engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Structural Project Engineer to join their growing Cambridge office. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled and design-focused engineer to take a key role in delivering a wide range of innovative and sustainable projects across the UK.
The Role
As a Structural Project Engineer, you'll work as part of a collaborative, creative, and technically driven team, delivering projects from concept through to completion. You'll have the opportunity to work on everything from heritage refurbishments and bespoke residential developments to complex commercial, cultural, and educational buildings.
You'll collaborate closely with architects, clients, and contractors to develop efficient and elegant structural solutions that reflect the consultancy's design ethos.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake and lead structural design work across a range of building projects
- Coordinate with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integration
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Support project planning, resourcing, and programme management
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians
- Contribute to the preparation of bids, proposals, and client presentations
About You
- Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Working towards or recently achieved Chartered Engineer status (ICE/IStructE)
- Solid technical experience in the design of building structures
- Skilled in structural analysis and design software (e.g. Tekla, Tedds, Revit, Etabs)
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- A passion for high-quality, sustainable design and attention to detail
