Our client a large water utility company is looking for a Streetworks Quality Assurance Trainer to work in London - Dartford.

This is a great opportunity for the ideal person to provide and deliver classroom and field based training including the creating of training materials.

A van, fuel card, phone and all PPE will also be supplied by the client, you will be  starting on a temporary contract with a view to join permanent after a succesful review. 

This is a multi-functional role which encompasses two key areas of operations:

  • You will deliver specific practical 'hands on' and classroom-based training requirements to support the Smart Metering Programme accordance to Traffic Management Act.
  • Responsible for auditing, reporting, and supporting the operational supervisors and operatives to ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Essential Safety Standards,



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical training sessions to operational staff on Streetworks compliance.
  • Providing and delivering classroom-based training on all elements of Streetworks compliance.
  • Proactively monitor street works quality compliance to ensure that any training requirements are identified.
  • Minimising all Streetworks fines by supporting supervisors and operatives.
  • Supporting the defect management process.
  • Undertaking joint inspections with local authority inspectors and/or their representatives and agree remedial works or other requirements and actions. 
  • Ensure key risks and issues are reported and escalated immediately to supervisor when necessary. 
  • Promote a behavioural safety approach.

  • Carry out SHEQ audits.


Skills and Experience

  • Ability to deliver streetworks training in a "hands-on" practical and classroom setting.
  • Competent user of MS Office, onsite Audit Apps and relevant software
  • Level 3 award in education and training or similar, is desirable
  • NRSWA Supervisor qualification (all units)
  • CAVA accredited or working towards (within 12 months)
  • CITB SMSTS, IOSH or similar
  • Experience in supervising and inspecting highways works
  • Detailed working knowledge of NRSWA 1991, Highways Act 1980, TMA 2004.
