Job description
Site Engineer required for Highways project in Ipswich, overseeing the delivery of a scheme in the National Highways network.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a prestigious infrastructure project and gain valuable experience in the highways sector. The contract is initially for 2 months, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of the highways project, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. You will work closely with the project management team and other stakeholders to deliver a successful scheme on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
·Oversee and supervise the daily activities on site to ensure the project runs smoothly.
·Manage and monitor the quality control procedures to ensure high standards of construction.
·Provide technical advice and resolve site issues as they arise.
·Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.
·Assist in the preparation of daily and weekly progress reports, highlighting any risks or delays.
·Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the design specifications, health and safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
·Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor safety and quality standards.
Essential Requirements:
·Proven experience as a Site Engineer, preferably on highways or civil engineering projects.
·Strong understanding of highway construction processes and procedures.
·Good knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and site management.
·Experience in managing and coordinating subcontractors and suppliers.
·Strong communication and organizational skills.
·Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
·CSCS Card and relevant qualifications in civil engineering or construction.
·Full UK Driving License.
Desirable Skills:
·Experience with working on National Highways schemes.
·HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
·Knowledge of Project Management software.
Rate is dependent on experience.
