A civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support a major highways project. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fastpaced environment and is confident balancing handson engineering with a strong emphasis on quality assurance.
You'll be joining a highperforming team delivering complex works, with the autonomy to take ownership of QA processes while still remaining active on site.
Key Responsibilities
·Lead and manage QA documentation, inspections, and compliance checks
·Ensure works meet specification, standards, and client requirements
·Maintain ITPs, check sheets, NCRs, and associated records
·Liaise with the client, subcontractors, and internal teams on quality matters
·Support audits and ensure robust quality processes are followed
·Setting out for highways works
·Conducting surveys, asbuilt records, and site measurements
·Supporting site teams with technical queries
·Ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently
Requirements
·Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major civils projects
·Strong background in QA and documentation
·Proficient with settingout equipment and software
·Ability to work independently and manage priorities
·Available to start immediately
·Eligible to work via LTD or CIS
