Senior Transport Planner/Traffic Engineer (Development Planning)
 
As a Senior Transport Planner / Traffic Engineer you will be responsible for day to day project management and organisation of tasks to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner for projects. You will take a lead with more junior staff in delivering solutions under the guidance of senior staff in the Company.
 
In such a role you will be expected to have commensurate qualifications, a first degree in civil engineering/transport planning, or similar subject, with Masters in transport planning. Alternatively, you may have a HND/HNC background with good experience and either achieved or be contemplating a Masters in transport planning. The company will support career progression through memberships of appropriate professional bodies, CPD and further education if it is of interest.
 
You will have a working knowledge of the development planning process including the role of planning applications and understanding of Local Plans. Your main focus will be in preparing Transport Assessments / Travel Plans, use of normal software in junction design and capacity assessment (LINSIG, Junctions 9), use of the TRICS database, a knowledge of survey methods and analysis, a knowledge of junction design, road safety and use of AutoCAD would all be necessary in this role.
Experience working for private sector developer clients is an advantage, although those with a public sector background will also be considered.

The salary package includes benefits and this role will attract a basic salary of £30-45k per annum dependent on experience and qualifications
