Senior Transport Planner - Development Planning
Hugglescote, Leicestershire Permanent | Full-Time
Are you an experienced Transport Planner ready to step into a senior role with greater autonomy and project ownership? We're recruiting for a well-regarded consultancy in Leicestershire looking to expand its development planning team with a talented Senior Transport Planner.
 
The Role:
You'll lead on the delivery of transport planning input for a wide range of development projects - from strategic residential schemes to mixed-use and employment-led sites. The role offers a blend of technical work, client liaison, and mentorship responsibilities.
 
What you will be doing:
·Lead the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Feasibility Studies
·Manage and mentor junior transport planners and graduates
·Oversee junction capacity modelling and access strategy development
·Engage with clients, architects, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams
·Represent the company at client meetings, public consultations, and planning appeals
·Contribute to bid writing, fee proposals, and project planning
 
What you need to know:
·Degree qualified in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or similar
·Strong working knowledge of relevant guidance (NPPF, Manual for Streets, DfT, etc.)
·Proficiency in industry software such as TRICS, TEMPro, ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·Chartered or working toward chartership with CIHT, TPS, or ICE (preferred)
·Full UK driving licence
