We're working with one of the UK's largest and most established planning teams, known for delivering some of the country's most complex and high-profile development projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, front-end development planning consultancy that advises both private and public sector clients across the full lifecycle of development-from early feasibility and plan promotion through to applications, EIA and appeals.
The Opportunity
You'll be part of a collaborative and ambitious planning team involved in a diverse portfolio of projects, including:
·Major city centre regeneration and tall buildings
·Strategic housing and mixed-use developments
·Town centre repurposing and retail schemes
·Logistics, major business parks, sports and leisure projects
·Listed building reuse and heritage-led development
Clients range from developers, landowners and housebuilders to financial institutions, registered providers and strategic promoters.
The Role
As a Senior / Principal Town Planner, you'll play a key role in leading and delivering planning advice, managing projects and contributing to the continued growth of the team. Responsibilities include:
·Developing planning strategies, appraisals and advice based on local and national policy
·Preparing clear, robust and persuasive planning statements
·Leading planning inputs within multi-disciplinary project teams
·Managing planning applications, consultations and stakeholder engagement
·Running projects independently while collaborating on larger schemes
·Attending site visits, client meetings and design team workshops
·Managing budgets and supporting high-quality project delivery
·Contributing to business development and attending industry events
About You
We're keen to speak with motivated planners who bring both technical strength and commercial awareness. You'll ideally have:
·A degree in Town Planning (or equivalent)
·Membership of, or eligibility for, the RTPI
·Experience in private sector consultancy and/or local authority planning
·Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, including applications, policy frameworks, permitted development and appeals
·Confidence to manage projects and client relationships
·A proactive, "can-do" attitude and a genuine desire to learn and share knowledge
