Job Title: Senior/Principal Town Planner

Location: London

I am working with a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy dedicated to delivering sustainable infrastructure and development projects across various sectors who are expanding their London team and are therefore looking for Senior or Principal Town Planner to support our growth.

Job Overview: The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of the team, working on major infrastructure and development projects that focus on sustainable development, Net Zero, ESG, Biodiversity Net Gain, and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities:
·Act as Planning Lead on projects across diverse markets and sectors.
·Engage in bid preparation, tender submissions, and framework responses.
·Serve as lead consultant for multi-disciplinary projects, overseeing project management and delivery.
·Provide mentorship and support to junior colleagues and Planning team leaders.
·Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment with environmental, engineering, and design professionals within the UK and internationally.
·Work with market and client leads to support business growth and development opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills:
·A relevant Planning degree; RTPI membership is desirable.
·Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
·Experience with the EIA process.
·Knowledge and experience in Strategic Planning and Planning policy.
·Understanding of TCPA, DCO, TWAO, or equivalent applications.
·Ability to work well within multi-disciplinary teams and contribute effectively as an individual.
·Capability to prepare accurate, well-presented reports and deliver high-standard presentations.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to rationally explain and discuss planning issues.
·Flexibility to apply knowledge and experience to various planning-related tasks.
·Proven ability to develop client relationships.
·Experience in work winning and supporting market growth.
