Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor - Water
Location: Glasgow - Home Based
Rate: £350 - £400 - PAYE
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months +
 
My client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their busy team in Glasgow, the candidate will ideally have experience working within the water industry, preferably Scottish Water.
The role will be home based initially whilst guidelines are in place after which you will be based in their Reading office
 
Responsibilities include:
·The varied work load includes new-builds; extensions; refurbishments.
·To assist in the daily commercial and contractual aspects of the contracts managed by the operational team
·Financial monitoring and reporting of projects assigned
·Defining and establishing suitable construction contracts with clients to suit procurement needs
·Preparation of financial statements in respect to projects assigned
·Ensuring proper administration of the Contract requirements
·Assist with completion of account
·Gather and collate records of all work done
·Undertake payment authorisation of subcontractors
·Ensure prompt submission of invoices and applications for payment
·To assist in the Business Development process in producing information for PQQs and Tenders in relation to the project deliverable to the client and the project deliverable requirement to the business
·Develop the team though training and mentoring
·Be responsible for junior quantity surveying staff in respect of:- Timekeeping; technical training requirements; development; resourcing; performance reviews
·Contribute to the formulation of the monthly financial reports, both internal management accounts and external applications for payment
 
Skills and Experience:
·HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
·Experience within the water industry
·Experience in the preparation of the interim and final accounts
·Experience in target cost contract or similar
·Experience with construction contracts
·Experience in people-management
