My client is looking for a Senior Engineer/ Principal who is accomplished at the technical side of transport planning. They require someone who is able to take on some of the more technical work they undertake and also help bring on their pool of technicians and engineers who are really good to work with, but would hugely benefit from another experienced head to assist their development.
 
The ideal candidate will be able to design or oversee a design of a roundabout or signal junction for planning applications, ensure a development layout meets requirements of a client or local authority and run projects.
 
Background:
Using CAD and designing all kinds of road alignments and junctions
Able to sketch designs for CAD technicians
Experience of detailed layout reviews, particular focus on large strategic residential schemes
Understanding of access appraisals and what to look out for, such as topography of land, visibility all in accordance with local and national guidance
Modelling using Junctions 10 with ability calibrate junctions
Understanding of LINSIG
 
Skills:
Able to engage, train and manage junior members of the team
Day to day running of projects under director
Finance control, including writing comprehensive fee proposals
Good written skills, for emails, client care, report writing,
An eye for detail, technical through to planning, making sure work is of highest quality before issue.
