You will have the experience in bridge design, inspection, assessment, and refurbishment/strengthening schemes, to join the busy and expanding experienced Manchester Bridges team. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of schemes, either as standalone bridge commissions or as part of multidisciplinary major projects. Their clients are from the private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements such as AGMA and with Transport for Greater Manchester Framework (TfGM Framework) with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors.

Responsibilities:
·Undertake and project manage various engineering schemes from inspection and assessment, feasibility through to detailed design. This may cover rail and/or road bridges and associated structures including footbridges
·Take responsibility for the contribution of Graduate Engineers and Technicians as appropriate
·Responsible for production through to client 'sign off' of Technical Approval documentation
·Hands-on technical design for road and/or rail structures
·Hands-on assessment of road and/or rail structures
·Client focus and liaison
·Production of tenders including quality documentation and costings
·Project Management including programme and resource monitoring, quality control, technical management and delivery to time and budget
  Requirements:
·You will have proven experience in the design of transportation structures and inspection and assessment
·You will also have demonstrable experience in the technical and commercial management of small to medium-sized teams
·Have a genuine interest in transportation structures and have good technical skills and communication skills
·Your technical background will allow you to contribute towards the maintenance of steel, reinforced concrete, and pre-stressed concrete transportation structures. Your background should also include experience in leading or mentoring small to medium-sized teams
·A commitment to comply with Health and Safety at Work and meeting the needs of our Clients
·Familiar with the Highways Agency's Guidance - Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB)
·Knowledge of CDM regulations and Safety In Design
·A current driving license
Preferred Qualifications
·Chartered Engineer with ICE and IstructE
·You will have a good degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
