Are you an experienced Engineer looking to take the next step in your career-working more independently, yet still supported by a collaborative and growing team?
An exciting opportunity has opened at a respected employee-owned consultancy, now establishing a new presence in Manchester city centre. With eight thriving offices across the UK and a growing footprint in the North West, this is the perfect time to join and shape the success of their newest team.
The team works on a variety of development infrastructure projects, predominantly for large residential developers, but also in industrial and commercial sectors. Projects range from early feasibility through planning and detailed design to construction support. The infrastructure division specialises in highways, drainage, and general development infrastructure.
About the Role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a key role in leading the technical delivery of projects, managing day-to-day client interaction, and helping to mentor junior colleagues. You'll have the opportunity to work with increasing autonomy, while also having the backing of experienced colleagues to support your ongoing development and career progression.
This role is ideal for someone looking to step into a more senior position, with scope to influence project direction and eventually progress into a management or associate role.

Key Responsibilities
·Lead or support the delivery of multiple infrastructure projects, ensuring high standards and timely delivery.
·Act as a technical lead on projects-developing designs, checking work, and managing technical approvals such as S104, S38 and S278.
·Liaise directly with clients, stakeholders, and approving authorities, including preparation of reports, drawings, and fee proposals.
·Support the growth of the new Manchester office and help embed best practices from the wider company.
·Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
·Take responsibility for the financial and programme performance of your own projects, with support where needed.
·Delegate and oversee tasks such as:
oConcept and detailed drainage strategies.
oLevels and earthworks appraisals.
oPlanning reports: Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Technical Notes, Utilities Statements.
oLand due diligence and site feasibility studies.
oConstruction drawings and detailed design packages.

What We're Looking For
·A proactive, motivated Engineer with a consultancy background in development infrastructure.
·Strong technical understanding of relevant standards including SSG, Building Regulations, DMRB, and CIRIA C753.
·Confident in using MicroDrainage and AutoCAD (essential); knowledge of Civil 3D is advantageous.
·Experience in both early-stage (pre-planning) and detailed design projects.
·Capable of working independently, while also being collaborative and supportive of team development.
·Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
·Chartered or working towards chartership with ICE or a similar body (desirable).

Benefits
·Flexible hybrid working, based in the new Manchester office.
·Annual salary review each July, based on company and individual performance.
·37.5-hour basic work week with flexible start/finish times.
·Paid overtime or TOIL for hours over 37.5/week.
·Employee Ownership Trust bonus scheme (after 12 months' service).
·Group Personal Pension scheme (5% employer contribution).
·25 days annual leave (increasing to 26 after 2 years), plus bank holidays.
·Cycle to Work scheme and travel season ticket loan.
·Access to private GP, financial advice, and retail discounts through the "You At Work" platform.
·Professional membership paid (e.g., ICE).
·Strong commitment to continued professional development and progression.
·2-3 fully funded company-wide social events annually.
