Senior Geotechnical Engineer
 
Our client is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Birmingham.
 
Our client is a multi-disciplinary consultancy with 12 offices throughout the UK employing approximately 500 staff. Working together with clients, they deliver solutions to challenging problems in Property & Development, Infrastructure & Utilities and Mining & Minerals.
The Ground Engineering team undertake a diverse range of contaminated land and geotechnical projects within the residential, development, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
 
Responsibilities of the role:
 
·Support to Technical Directors in project delivery, work winning and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
·Mentoring of junior staff.
·Active input to team and client meetings.
·Preparing and checking a wide variety of technical reports including Phase I Desk Study reports, ground investigation reports and other interpretive geo-environmental reports.
·Lead the input into projects from desk study through to ground investigation and interpretation to final design.
·Prepare company Health & Safety documentation for site works.
 
 
Requirements of the role:
 
·Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents.
·A range of experience, knowledge, and skills in geotechnical engineering and /or engineering geology.
·A good knowledge of the principal soil and rock strata encountered in the UK and associated geohazards including experience in logging soils and rock to current standards.
·Experience in working for a variety of Clients (such as House Builders, Private Developers, Contractors and Infrastructure) would be advantageous.
·A strong working knowledge of UK ground conditions and ground investigation practice.
·Valid UK driving license
