Job description

Role: Senior Electrical Project Engineer - Wastewater Projects
Location: Brighton
Rate: Up to £450 per day inside IR35

My client is one of the UK's leading Engineering contractors within the Water sector and are looking for an Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join their team on a contract basis working on their Wastewater projects.

Based at Falmer or Chatham you will assist the Project Manager in managing the design, construction, commissioning and "close out" of projects, ensuring that they are completed in the most effective and efficient manner, without compromising health and safety and the environment whilst maintaining customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include:

  • The timely completion of multiple concurrent projects, safely and within budget
  • Liaise with client's engineering and operations staff to ensure KPI's are met or exceeded within budget constraints
  • Attend internal and external review and progress meetings
  • Attend site visits/meetings.
  • Ascertain preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutions
  • Manage site safety, health and environmental issues
  • Co-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installations and construction teams
  • Assist with the Project Management strategy
  • Assist in the production of the contract programme; monitor programme and produce progress reports
  • Liaise with site management on design and procurement issues
  • Challenge all stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation, doing something differently and improving working practises to realise opportunities and minimise risk - both to safety and commercial performance
  • Work closely with Project Quantity Surveyor to generate cost plans, input commitments and monitor project out-turn costs, reporting to the PM any variations and assist in preparation of mitigation plans
