Senior Ecologist
 
Our client is looking for a Senior Ecologist to join their expanding team in Glasgow.
 
The successful candidate will have the chance to join a successful multidisciplinary consultancy, delivering solutions to challenging problems in the Mining and Minerals, Infrastructure and Energy, and Property and Development sectors.
 
Responsibilities of the role:
 
·Confidently deliver pragmatic, accurate advice on a range of ecology topics to clients;
·Undertake Ecological surveys, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (Phase 1 Habitat Survey/ UKHab) and Protected Species Surveys, independently in line with appropriate guidance;
·Independently produce a variety of ecological reports including PEA, EcIA, protected species reports, biodiversity metric calculations, HRA screening assessments, management plans and method statements to a high standard and in line with best practice guidance;
·Obtain Natural England Mitigation Licences and be able to undertake and implement appropriate mitigation;
·Be an active member of the Ecology team, working collaboratively with the wider team and acting as a mentor for junior staff members;
·Undertake management responsibilities in line with company and team structure;
·Be an associate member, or higher, of CIEEM.
 
Requirements of the role:
 
·A minimum qualification of a BSc (Hons) in a natural science;
·A protected species survey licence for at least one species;
·A full driving licence and their own car available at all times for business use;
·An adaptable and flexible approach to work, to meet demands at peak times.
