Due to increasing workload an opportunity for a Qualified Building surveyor or structural Engineer has arisen to join a specialist team in London. You will lead on Project coordination, contract administration and perform general surveying duties across a range of projects and clients.
The role
A Professionally qualified Surveyor is required in specifying and managing the insurance funded reinstatement of properties. A good technical knowledge needs to be reinforced with an understanding of the role of Contract Administrator under the JCT Minor Works form of contract. An understanding of insurance cover in relation to fire, flood, storm and vehicle impact damage claims would be advantageous.
Person specification:
·Demonstrate good oral, written communication and personal presentation as the role is client facing and you will be required to give presentations, chair meetings and prepare professionally written reports to a high standard
·You will need to demonstrate your resilience as this position attracts a high volume of work and at times, can be a pressured environment
·Be organised and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
·You will need to manage client expectations skilfully and bring solutions to challenging situations
·Be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team
·You will be required to drive between sites so need to have access to own vehicle and a clean driving licence
 
 
Requirements:
 
·BEng/MSc (or equivalent) in Building Surveying or Civil/Structural Engineering
·Chartered with RICS, IOB or ICE/IStructE
Experience of working wit JCT Minor Works Contracts
·Experience in the inspection of large and varied fire, flood, storm and vehicle impacted insurance claims
·Understanding of insurance cover in relation to fire, flood, storm and vehicle impact claims
·Can write repair specifications and manage JCT MW Contracts
·An understanding of basic liability issues would be an advantage
·Ability to run up to 40-50 projects simultaneously
