Transform the future for children and young people with SEND in Bristol.
Are you an experienced leader in SEND and education transformation? Do you have the skills to drive strategic change and deliver real impact for children, young people and families?
Bristol City Council is looking for a SEND Transformation Lead to take forward a bold and ambitious four-year SEND and Inclusion Strategy. Working closely with senior leaders, partners and communities, you'll lead the delivery of high-profile improvement work - ensuring children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the right support, at the right time, to thrive.
About the Role
This is a senior role focused on delivering real change. You'll:
·Lead the implementation of the SEND Strategy across education, health and care.
·Provide strategic oversight of the DSG Deficit Management Plan and our Safety Valve obligations.
·Oversee planning, governance and delivery of key projects to time, budget and quality.
·Support the SEND & AP Delivery Board and ensure alignment across complex programmes.
·Engage and collaborate with families, schools, health providers and other stakeholders to deliver inclusive, joined-up services.
About You
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You will bring:
·Substantial experience of leading complex change programmes in a SEND or local authority setting.
·Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, MSP).
·Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
·A clear understanding of SEND systems, policy and inclusive education practice.
·Confidence in managing performance, budgets, and governance processes at a strategic level.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference for children and young people across Bristol - ensuring they are supported to reach their potential and feel included in their schools and communities.
