Security Designer
 
Our client is a large Power company, that works across vast areas of Scotland on the transmission, distribution, and connection of UK Power. They work to get traditional and green energy to people's homes and ensure the successful running of this process. They are a great employer and are currently recruiting in the Security Division of their business.
The client is looking for someone Glasgow based, with national travel, who will be responsible for the specification and design of the Security Projects.
The Security Designer will be in charge of the original model design drawings and specifications based on the business'. They will also be involved in reviewing the tender submissions to ensure they meet operational requirements. The Security Designer will be the point of contact for the client's wider team during the early construction and design stages, working with them to ensure all requirements for security are met.
Pay rates for this role will be between £350-£500 per day - UMB.
 
Role
·To support the Head of Technical with the review of technical specifications and production.
·Be knowledgeable of all guidance documents, security standards, and current security technology.
·Analyse risks in order to design and maintain appropriate security procedures and policies which protect our client's assets.
·Ensure all business areas have appropriate security designs.
·Ensuring all security projects comply with the Iberdrola Global model and are consistence with strategy.
·Customer relationship management proactively sought, up to and including director level.
·Management of external relationships with strategic service partners and specialists including OFGEM and BEIS
·Technical scrutiny of any changes to projects that involve Critical National Infrastructure and comply with CPNI Guidance
·Support the Maintenance Manager to develop and maintain a systems strategy for the Alarm Receiving Centre and work closely with the business cyber teams and Corporate cyber team to minimise any cyber risk.
 
Requirements
·Experience with EN & BS standards to develop security specifications that reflect business technical requirements.
·Experience in designing complex security projects, effective technical support, and inputting advice and knowledge through the lifecycle of the project.
·AutoCAD and MS office experience
·Knowledge and experience of CDM regulations
·Provable experience in providing lead technical skills within the Utility, Security, or other Heavy Engineering industries.
·Largescale industrial capital project operating experience.
·Good understanding of cyber, OT, and design systems
·Knowledge of H&S principles and their purpose within the delivery of largescale projects
·Ability to manage identification and delivery of technology and systems to incorporate into technical strategies and solutions
