Quantity Surveyor required for an immediate assignment contract job to work on a highways maintenance contract in the South of the UK.
 
As the successful candidate you will manage all costs and contracts relating to a specific project being undertaken by the business. As QS you will deal with the initial calculations to the final figures. You must seek to minimise the costs of projects and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
 
The work will involve that of highways maintenance, road improvements, small structures, drainage and high street improvements.
 
Knowledge of Contract documents is a must, in particular Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW), Specification and Method of Measurement
 
What you will do:
·Managing works on day to day, make payments, request payments etc.
·Chasing & Agreeing Final accounts from subcontractors and agreeing the same with Client
·Getting involved at month end on CVR etc. (income v cost for schemes)
·Demonstrating good organisational skills and ability to run large programme of works is therefore key to the success.
 
What you will need to succeed:
·Degree in Quantity Surveying
·Experience within a similar Highways based role
·Commercially astute - working knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement
 
This is an urgent need and would suit a QS from highways or small civils background with good people skills, technical skills, and good idea of Work Order systems.
