Are you an Enforcement Officer with Rights of Way experience?
 
Our client currently has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Rights of Way Enforcement Officer to join their team in Nottingham. You will also lead on campaigns intended to pro-actively maintain accessibility to the PROW network across the county.
 
The main duties and responsibilities include:
·Provide expert management of enforcement issues working with colleagues and clients to protect the existing RoW network.
·Manage specific campaigns to pro-actively reduce future issues to achieve greater efficiency and public satisfaction
·Liaise with landowners to achieve resolution at an early stage of enforcement process to improve awareness and compliance of landowner responsibilities and obligations
·Manage implementation of enforcement works and recovery of costs to encourage compliance and safeguard the network
·Investigate, gather evidence and prepare information to support formal enforcement process including representing the client in court and be an expert witness to successfully defend public rights.
·Monitor and analyse performance data to ensure effectiveness of enforcement activity
 
The ideal candidate will have:
·Proven experience in an enforcement role, serving notices and carrying out enforcement action
·Ability or willingness to train to undertake interviews under PACE
·Basic knowledge or an interest in the countryside and the rights of way network
·A basic awareness of highway legislation
·Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
·Proven experience of dealing with the public, landowners and stake holders in sometimes difficult and contentious situations in a calm and effective manner
·Ability to maintain computerised records
·Ability to write concise reports
·Full and valid UK driving license
