Job description

Our client is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support their Highways division. Recognised as the UK's leading highway maintenance contractor, the business delivers innovative and practical solutions across a wide range of services, including routine and emergency maintenance as well as highway improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

·Assist with cost control and value management, ensuring financial reports are accurate and delivered on time
·Work closely with operational teams to produce robust and transparent quarterly forecasts
·Manage contract variations, early warnings and compensation events in line with contractual requirements
·Ensure all activities comply with client expectations and established commercial processes
·Develop and maintain positive client relationships while monitoring budgets and year-end performance
·Manage sub-contractor procurement, monthly valuations, reconciliations and final accounts
·Undertake site visits and help ensure projects remain on programme and within agreed timescales
·Provide additional commercial support and undertake ad-hoc duties when required

Requirements:

·Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (desirable but not essential)
·Demonstrable commercial experience within the construction sector
·Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
·Well organised with good interpersonal abilities
·Experience in highways or civil engineering, ideally working for a contractor
·Working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
·Professionally qualified Quantity Surveyor with relevant experience and credentials
