Quantity Surveyor - Highways Technology
 
Salary: £40,000-£45,000
 
 
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor with expertise in highways technology to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of projects related to highways technology, ensuring cost-effectiveness, accurate budgeting, and adherence to financial regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that shape the future of transportation infrastructure.
 
Responsibilities:
 
Accurately estimate the costs associated with highways technology projects, including hardware, software, labor, and other resources required for successful project delivery.
 
Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses throughout the project lifecycle and ensuring adherence to financial constraints and client expectations.
 
Oversee the procurement process for highways technology projects, including sourcing materials, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
 
Administer contracts with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, terms, and conditions, and resolving any disputes that may arise.
 
Identify potential risks and opportunities related to cost factors and develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities to enhance project profitability.
 
Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities, exploring alternative solutions to optimize costs without compromising quality or functionality.
 
Prepare regular financial reports for project stakeholders, providing insights into project financial performance, forecasts, and any potential financial risks or issues.
 
Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, specifications, and regulations, maintaining high standards of workmanship and performance in all aspects of highways technology projects.
 
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, communicating effectively to address their financial concerns, provide updates on project progress, and ensure their satisfaction with project deliverables.
 
Requirements:
 
·Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., MRICS) is preferred.
·Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with a focus on highways technology projects.
·Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost estimation techniques.
·Proficiency in using relevant software tools for quantity surveying, budgeting, and financial analysis.
·Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
·Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact confidently with clients and stakeholders.
·Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in financial calculations and reporting.
·Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and quality of work.
·Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing highways technology projects is desirable.
·Flexibility to travel to project sites and attend meetings with clients or stakeholders as required.
