Job description
What we need:
We are pleased to represent our client, a major highways contractor in the Birmingham area. This industry-leading company is known for delivering high-quality projects and is at the forefront of innovation in the construction and highways sector. As a part of their expansion, they are currently seeking Quantity Surveyors to join their team at teh following levels:
- Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS): £400/day
- Assistant Quantity Surveyor (AQS): £250/day
What you will do:
We are looking for experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyors at both Senior and Assistant levels. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a reputable highways contractor and contribute to their ongoing success. Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS):
- Manage all aspects of the cost and commercial management of assigned projects.
- Prepare and review project budgets, cost estimates, and cost plans.
- Conduct regular cost analyses and provide forecasts.
- Lead in contract negotiation and procurement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Assistant Quantity Surveyors when necessary.
Responsibilities for Assistant Quantity Surveyor (AQS):
- Support Senior Quantity Surveyors in various aspects of cost management.
- Assist in budget preparation and cost monitoring.
- Maintain accurate records of project costs.
- Assist with procurement and contract administration.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure efficient cost management.
What you will need to succeed:
For Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS):
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction or highways sector.
- Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- Strong knowledge of contract management and procurement.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Leadership skills.
For Assistant Quantity Surveyor (AQS):
- Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (preferred).
- Eagerness to learn and develop in the field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and team collaboration abilities.
Additional Information:
- IR35 status will be determined based on applicant circumstances.
- Both roles are full-time and paid weekly by Carrington West
