An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highways Quantity Surveyor to join a local authority on a long-term contract basis. Our client is based in South Yorkshire.
As the successful candidate, you will join a large and busy team, and will be required to have an in-depth knowledge of highway maintenance contracts and in particular the NEC Suite of Contracts.
You will be working with a highways and transportation service that is responsible for delivery of a large number of local road improvement schemes, transportation infrastructure projects and related civil engineering schemes/projects. Current value of the forward programme for the next two years is around £80 million. A quantity surveyor is required to oversee effective cost management, specification compliance systems and procedures ensuring targets are met for both budget and contractual requirements.
Main Duties are:
·Managing works on day to day, including making and requesting payments
·Chasing & agreeing final accounts from subcontractors and agreeing the same with client
·Supporting with month end and cost value reconciliation.
·Running a large programme of works, demonstrating sound organisational skills.
We are looking for someone with NEC option B and NEC option C experience. Any CEMAR experience would be desirable but is not essential.
