Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experience Public Rights of Way Officer to come and join a busy team in the Manchester area:
The main duties of the experienced Public Rights of Way Officer are:
- Maintain and update the Definitive Map and Statement, ensuring accurate legal records of public rights of way.
- Investigate and process Public Path Orders, Definitive Map Modification Orders, and Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders.
- Respond to enquiries from the public, landowners, user groups, and stakeholders regarding rights of way issues.
- Carry out site inspections, assess path conditions, and coordinate maintenance or enforcement actions where required.
- Work with volunteers, local communities, and partner organisations to support improvements and promote responsible access.
- Provide expert advice on planning applications affecting public rights of way.
