The organisation has been operating for nearly 150 years and have expertise in Aviation, Buildings, Energy, Industry, Infrastructure, Maritime, Urban Development and Water. My client is currently looking for a Highway Design Engineer to be based in Manchester. Additional opportunity for the London office. The company are currently flexible with remote working.
 
The team in London or Manchester are seeking an enthusiastic, optimistic, conscientious and talented person with excellent communication skills and technical ability in relation to project management in the civil engineering/ highway and transport sector. Projects typically include highways and cycle lane schemes, transport-related environmental assessments and other transport-related studies. In this role you will assist with the delivery of projects by managing time, money and contractual elements of projects and ensuring successful completion.  The successful candidate would ideally have experience/ knowledge of highway design projects.
 
Your role will involve working with engineers and technical specialists to help ensure that projects are managed appropriately in relation to scope, budget and programme. This will involve working across multi-disciplinary teams within the company and also with subcontractors and clients.
 
This role might be right for you if you have:
 
-            Experience in project management in the infrastructure, environmental or construction sectors
-            An appreciation of Civil Engineering projects and contracts
-            Robust financial management skills
-            Experience in using MS Project or equivalent (PrimaVera would also be useful)
-            Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational, analytical and time management skills
-            Great interpersonal skills
-            Experience in managing contracts (ideally NEC/ RIBA) would be an advantage
-            Project management qualifications would be an advantage
