Job Title: Highways Project Manager
Salary: £65,000
Location: Basingstoke
 
Job Type: Full-Time
 
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful and safe delivery of projects, ensuring they meet time, budget, and quality objectives while exceeding customer expectations. You will lead and direct multi-disciplinary project teams and collaborate closely with operational and commercial teams to achieve project goals.
 
Responsibilities:
 
·Manage change effectively, solving problems and adapting to new situations.
·Provide support to Site Agents with HR duties and develop team members through training and risk assessments.
·Foster effective communication internally and externally, encouraging feedback and addressing any concerns promptly.
·Lead meetings, drive innovation, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
·Take ownership of financial forecasting, cost control, and reporting, challenging the status quo.
·Plan projects meticulously, ensuring detailed programming to facilitate smooth project execution.
·Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures throughout project delivery.
·Facilitate tender handover and conduct pre-start meetings with site teams.
·Manage and engage with the supply chain, ensuring proper utilization and commercial management.
·Liaise closely with operations and commercial managers on project controls, change management, planning, risk management, finance, and procurement.
·Conduct regular progress reviews, resource planning, and lookahead programming.
·Chair and attend internal and external meetings, maintaining accurate records of discussions and actions.
·Resolve technical difficulties and improve project performance in terms of progress and quality.
·Act as an inspiring and effective leader, coaching and motivating site teams, and embodying our company values.
·Drive team and individual performance, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
·Oversee and ensure the implementation of health, safety, environmental, quality, and social management procedures on each project.
·Proactively promote continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
·Maintain accurate records and promptly report any problems, defects, or changes in scope of work.
·Manage multiple projects, ensuring risk management and profitable, sustainable delivery.
·Ensure contractual and commercial management of projects, adhering to timescales and contractual obligations.
·Provide commercial information to support decision-making and assist with final account negotiations and contract closeout.
· 
Qualifications and Experience:
 
·Relevant industry qualification: NVQ/HNC/HND/BEng or equivalent experience.
·Construction Manager's CSCS card (Level 6 and above) and CSCS 5-day safety qualification (SMSTS).
·Temp Works Co-Ordinator certification.
·Strong experience in delivering multiple concurrent Civil Engineering projects from tender to completion.
·Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
·Proficient in producing programs, risk assessments, method statements, and other project documents.
·Familiarity with NEC3/4 contracts and CDM 2015 regulations.
·Ability to resolve problems, assess risks, and produce accurate plans and drawings.
·Proficient in Microsoft Project.
·Previous experience in tendering processes is desirable.
·Excellent people management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor employees.
