Job description
Project Controls Manager - Energy Infrastructure (Consultancy)
London
£85,000 - £90,000 basic + package
A leading infrastructure consultancy is seeking two experienced PMO Managers to join their growing Energy division, supporting a major National Grid programme.
These roles sit within a high-profile, multi-regional framework covering North, South, Central and London, with each region led by a Project Director and supported by Senior Project Managers. As PMO Manager, you will be embedded within the client environment while representing the consultancy, providing critical programme controls and governance support to the regional Project Director.
This is an opportunity to operate at the heart of nationally significant energy infrastructure delivery, within a consultancy known for delivering complex programmes across regulated sectors.
The Role
As PMO Manager, you will act as a trusted advisor to the Project Director, ensuring strong programme controls, governance, and reporting standards are maintained across the regional portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
·Providing strategic PMO leadership across a regional National Grid programme
·Supporting the Project Director with governance, reporting, and performance management
·Leading Cost Management, including forecasting, financial tracking, and variance analysis
·Overseeing Document Control processes to ensure compliance and audit readiness
·Managing and maintaining Risk and Issue Management frameworks
·Embedding best-practice PMO processes aligned to both consultancy and client standards
·Engaging confidently with senior stakeholders across client and delivery teams
About You
We are ideally looking for candidates with experience in the Energy or Utilities sector, particularly those who have supported large-scale infrastructure programmes. However, we welcome strong PMO leaders from other regulated or complex industries who can demonstrate transferable expertise.
You will bring:
·Proven experience operating as a PMO Manager within a consultancy or client-facing environment
·Strong background in Cost Management, Risk Management, and Document Control
·Experience supporting senior stakeholders (Project Director / Programme Director level)
·Ability to operate in structured, multi-regional or matrix delivery environments
·Commercial awareness and confidence representing a consultancy within a client organisation
Why Join?
·Work for a respected consultancy delivering nationally significant infrastructure
·High-profile National Grid framework exposure
·Opportunity to influence and shape regional programme governance
·£85,000 - £90,000 basic salary + competitive package
·Clear pathway for progression within a growing Energy practice
If you are a senior PMO professional looking to combine consultancy exposure with major infrastructure delivery, we'd be keen to discuss this opportunity further.
