Carrington West are pleased to offer this unique vacancy with one of the most pioneering and outstanding consultancies in the Transport Planning market.
 
Our client is currently looking for an experience Principal Transport Planner to join their team as either a Principal or Associate Transport Planner.
 
This role will allow the successful candidate to work directly with the senior management within the company as well as manage more junior staff. The role offers the chance to progress and management their own staff and projects.
 
Day to day activities:
 
·To assist and deputise for the Director in leading, managing and taking responsibility for the technical and commercial performance of the team.
 
·To manage all technical and commercial aspects of commissions.
 
·To set and maintain technical standards.
 
·To review and approve work prepared by others.
 
Technical experience you will need:
 
·Degree qualified in a relevant subject (Geography or Civil Engineering, an MSc in Transport Planning is highly desirable);
 
·Preparation of technical assessment documents and reports for planning submissions;
 
·Experience of Transport Assessments / Statements, Travel Plans and sustainability assessments;
 
·Providing planning-stage support for a variety of development schemes;
 
·Experience using Arcady, Picady, Linsig, AutoCAD & Auto Track;
 
·Strong written, numerical and verbal communication skills;
 
·Strong IT skills, in particular using Excel
 
·Applicants MUST be eligible to live and work in the UK, and hold a Full Valid UK Driving Licence
 
Other experience you will need:
 
·Shall have a proven commercial awareness;
 
·Have the drive and self-motivation to continuously develop your skills;
 
·Be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and to be able to build and develop relationships, both internally and externally;
 
·Be able to demonstrate developing and maintaining an effective network of contacts;
 
·Ability to apply technical knowledge in analysing problems and creating solutions;
 
·Ability to work on your own initiative and motivate others;
 
·Be reliable and have a responsible attitude to work.
