An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Principal Traffic Engineering professional to join our client's expanding offices based in Slough. Due to ongoing success in the Highways and Transportation sectors and some major client wins in 2020 we are expecting unprecedented growth throughout 2021 onwards!
 
As the successful Principal Engineer you will be working on a range of schemes within the industry, leading a team of Engineering professionals further enabling you to advance your career and develop your skill set.

The role requires a detailed knowledge of highways, traffic, parking and transportation, and the ability to develop and initiate schemes from inception through to completion. 
 
Key elements of the role:
·Ensuring that projects are managed within their respective budgets
·Co-ordinate the issue of invoices and ensure the clients requirements are fulfilled
·Preparation of proposals and estimates for new work
·Project managing / directing projects in accordance with Client requirements
·Provide technical direction on projects and high level advice on complex technical issues
·Contribute to the management of the Traffic Engineering team
·Respond to client requests and enquiries and ensuring that their needs are met
·To actively sell aspects of the business to clients
·To be flexible - carry out any duties as and when required for the good of the company
·To manage staff in his / her team effectively, encourage and motivate performance, and help with their development
·To be the client's primary point of contact for projects managed within their business unit
 
The ideal candidate will have but not limited to:
·Relevant Degree or equivalent
·Minimum of seven years' relevant experience
·Alternative consideration given to significant relevant experience in lieu of specified education and professional qualification
·Comprehensive understanding of traffic and transportation techniques, highway design and transport planning principles and a proven track record in project design and delivery
·Preferably conversant with and/or intermediate user of CAD design software
·Good project management experience and/or a relevant qualification
·Good understanding of traffic and highway legislation
·Comprehensive knowledge of relevant technical / industry / TfL standards
