Job description

My client are a large mobile infrastructure operator with sites across the UK and Europe. They manage the Access, Design, Build and running of thousands of mobile telecommunication sites across the UK. They offer customers a range of high end services to ensure their clients can deliver high quality transmission of voice, data and audiovisual. They are working on smart cities and emergency networks also.
 
They are currently working on a large project with MBNL across the Uk to deliver 3G & 4G upgrades on their customers sites. To manage this they are looking for a Principal Project Manager to work with the Customer Programme Manager to deliver Access, Design and Build of wireless Network upgrades and new mast sites. The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced PM with a background in design as well as experience in build including things such as rigging. Ideally this person will come from a Mobile Telecommunications background.
 
The role will be directly reporting to the Programme Director. You will be responsible for the delivery of small and medium sized business projects of varying complexity.
 
The role:
·Understand and define the goals and deliverables forming a Project Initiation Document
·Identify what tasks are requires and the resource required to do that (including 3rd party assistance)
·Manage the budget
·Assign roles and responsibilities to project team members
·Agree allocation of activities
·Identify 3rd party suppliers and set their standards of delivery and write documentation guidelines
·Manage customer relations with regards to your projects
·Track progress of the project and amend plans where needed
·Deliver an effective project handover to customers
 
Areas of focus:
·Management of large programmes of work and delivery of projects via key suppliers
·Initial set up and delivery of new programmes of work
·Keeping good relations with customers, maintaining an excellent partnership
·Ensure a balanced workload for all suppliers, looking at their performance, available resources and their experience in the market

Requirements:
·Degree level qualification
·Mobile Network experience of a minimum of 5 to 7 years
·Excellent communication skills and ability to work with customers
·A proven track record on delivery
·APM or Prince 2
·Written and Verbal English to a high level
·Proficient in MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint & Word
·Ability to manage all areas of a Project including; 3rd party contractors, QS's, Surveyors, PM's, Design teams and Delivery Teams
