Principal Geotechnical Engineer - Cardiff or Bristol

With offices in Cardiff and Bristol and a flexible hybrid working policy (three days in the office per week), you'll have the balance of office collaboration and home-based focus.
What you'll be doing
As a Chartered / Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will:
·Specify, manage, and interpret geotechnical investigations.
·Undertake geotechnical assessments and provide specialist design solutions.
·Support civil and structural disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.
·Deliver standalone ground engineering commissions and contribute to pre-planning design development.
·Prepare and review reports including Ground Investigation Reports, Geotechnical Design Reports and CD622 Feedback Reports.
·Carry out analyses including slope stability, ULS and SLS foundation assessments, settlement analysis, and earthworks specifications.
·Design cuttings and embankments (reinforced, anchored, or nailed solutions).
·Work with specialist geotechnical software (Rocscience and Geo5 preferred) and support with CAD and GIS deliverables.
What you'll bring
You'll succeed in this Chartered / Senior Geotechnical Engineer role if you have:
·A degree in Civil Engineering or Geology, with a postgraduate qualification in a geotechnical subject.
·Chartered status (Civil Engineer or Geologist).
·Strong project management experience within design and build environments.
·Proven ability to liaise confidently with clients, manage workload, and deliver commercial success.
·Excellent technical writing, reporting and self-checking skills.
·A strong grasp of EC7 and relevant UK design codes.
·A willingness to travel for short UK and occasional overseas assignments (UK driving licence essential).
