Job Title: Interim Principal Property Surveyor (Property Management)
Location: Cambridge (Hybrid Working)
Rate: £500 Umbrella
Duration: 6 months
Cambridge City Council is recruiting for an experienced Interim Principal Property Surveyor to join our dynamic Property Services team. This role involves managing the Council's property portfolios and optimising commercial investments.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Estate Management: Oversee day-to-day management of the Council's commercial properties.
2.Advisory Services: Provide expert property advice to Directors, Councillors, and other departments.
3.Negotiations and Renewals: Lead lease negotiations, renewals, and other property-related negotiations.
4.Acquisition and Disposal: Manage land and property acquisitions and disposals according to asset management plans.
5.Portfolio Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance of the commercial property portfolio.
6.Valuations and Appraisals: Conduct valuations and appraisals of the Council's portfolios.
7.Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date property and valuation records.
8.Team Leadership: Manage cost centres and support the development of Property Surveyors.
9.Performance Monitoring: Contribute to the establishment and monitoring of procedures and standards.
Person Specification:
Experience:
·Post-qualification experience in surveying or property management.
·Proficiency in property management databases and software.
Qualifications/Training:
·Relevant degree or diploma recognized by RICS, MRICS qualification, or comparable.
Knowledge and Skills:
·Strong verbal and written communication skills.
·Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Competencies:
·Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the Council's competency framework.
