This Principal Civil Engineering Technician opportunity offers you the chance to play a key role within a growing Civil & Structural Engineering team. My client is a fast-growing, award-winning Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering and Transport Planning consultancy delivering projects across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. In this Principal Civil Engineering Technician role, you will be:
·Working within a Civil & Structural Engineering design team delivering drainage systems, infrastructure layouts and S278/S38 schemes
·Supporting engineers across a wide variety of project types and stages
·Mentoring junior staff and supporting their professional development
·Taking responsibility for CAD and drafting processes, identifying and implementing improvements
·Owning and maintaining standard detail libraries, coordinating updates with engineering teams
·Overseeing drawing quality standards and ensuring consistency across projects
·Providing training to engineering teams in areas of technical responsibility
·Working closely with developers, architects and local authorities in a design office environment
·Contributing to marketing material through simplified engineering graphics where required
To be considered for this Principal Civil Engineering Technician position, you will ideally have:
·8+ years' experience in a similar role
·Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (essential) and Site3D (preferred)
·Experience working with local authorities, developers and architects
·A degree or HND in Civil Engineering (preferred but not essential)
·Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure
·Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Your salary will be £40,000 - £48,000 per year dependent on experience, reflecting your capability as a Principal Civil Engineering Technician.
