We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Planning Technician to join a Southampton team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for planning and a keen eye for detail to contribute to a variety of projects, from residential developments to commercial schemes and infrastructure projects. As a Planning Technician, you will support our planners and consultants by providing technical assistance, conducting research, and preparing documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
·Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals, and related documents.
·Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data and assess site conditions.
·Compile and analyze planning data, maps, and reports.
·Prepare drawings, plans, and visualizations using CAD and GIS software.
·Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
·Monitor planning application statuses and update project tracking systems.
·Support senior planners and consultants in the delivery of planning projects.
·Stay up-to-date with planning legislation, policies, and best practices.
Requirements:
·A degree or diploma in Town Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
·Previous experience in a planning or technical support role is desirable.
·Proficiency in CAD and GIS software.
·Strong analytical and research skills.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
·A keen interest in urban planning, sustainable development, and community engagement.
·Full UK driving license.
