Senior Planning Officer - Development Management
 
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and progressive planning team, working to deliver new opportunities, homes and jobs for our local communities.
 
We are looking for an enthusiastic development management planner who shares our passion and vision for drawing on the councils existing green, blue and heritage assets to inspire and enable new high-quality places.
 
As part of an accomplished multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with innovative built and natural environment specialists to champion high quality development. We encourage candidates who are keen to build up experience working, in support of the Strategic Applications Team, on a range of high-profile large scale major and strategic applications. Including town centre schemes, corporate projects and a chance to work on one of the UK's most ambitious new neighbourhoods.
 
The Role
 
You will play a pivotal role in supporting progress on several key regeneration projects, with a focus on larger strategic / corporate schemes, delivering high quality development outcomes successfully through the statutory development management process. Excellent customer focus is essential as is your ability to manage these projects to agreed timescales and quality criteria. For this role you will need to be confident and effective in dealing with applicants and their agents, Councillors, residents and other key stakeholders.
 
Successful candidates will have acquired practical experience within a development management environment with a solid track record project managing planning applications through the planning process and achieving high quality outcomes. In addition, you will have a degree in Town and Country Planning and will have worked in development management at a local authority in the UK over a sustained period coupled with a knowledge of planning legislation.
