I am working closely with my LPA client based in Gloucestershire and assisting in their recruitment for a temporary Planning Officer on an initial 6-month contract.
 
Recent experience in the same role within a LPA is a necessity and you must be confident with picking up a caseload with minimal supervision. The caseload will comprise of householder and minor applications.
 
You must be comfortable carrying out investigations, site visits and writing reports. This is a customer-focused role so you must be able to communicate clearly and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders effectively. Site visits are likely to be required once per week, office presence is optional.

It would be beneficial to have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in town planning and be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)
