Permitting Officer required for long term contract based in Guildford, Surrey.
 
As the Permitting Officer you will be tasked with coordinating temporary activities on the network in relation to regulations, statutory guidance and codes of practice, and take actions, where necessary, to enforce these controls.
 
The coordinator will be working closely with the works delivery managers and supervisors to ensure all programmes are permitted. This is a critical role to enable all planned and reactive works to go ahead in line with the new roads and streetworks act.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·To monitor and examine all regulatory statutory undertaker (street works) and Highway Authority (roadworks) notifications sent via the Street Manager system to coordinate activities throughout the designated area.
·To process applications for a permit, and associated permit-variations to ensure their potential impact is minimised and controlled.
·To ensure the appropriate traffic management provisions are authorised for all relevant works taking place on the network.
