Job description

We're currently recruiting an experienced Permitting and Performance Manager to join a dynamic Highways Contractor team on a freelance basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the lead in delivering compliant and efficient street works and permitting operations using the latest systems and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

·Oversee and manage all Street Works activities for the business
·Lead and support a small team, including Permitting Officers
·Ensure compliance with NRSWA, HAUC guidelines, and permit schemes
·Liaise with local authorities and internal teams to coordinate works
·Use Street Manager system for permits and noticing
·Manage inspections, permitting workflows, and performance reporting
·Drive continuous improvement in operational delivery and compliance

Required Experience:

·Proven experience in a Street Works Manager or Lead role
·Strong working knowledge of NRSWA and Street Manager system
·Experience managing permits and working with local councils
·Effective communicator with leadership skills and a detail-focused approach
·Able to work independently in a freelance capacity
